location

The Dominican Republic is a country blessed with year-round summer-like temperatures, a friendly and welcoming personality, and the most lush and varied terrain in the Caribbean. It is a country of firsts and mosts. Home to the first city in the colonized "New World", highest three peaks in the Caribbean (all over 10,000 feet), birthplace of Merrengue music, 9 climactic zones, miles of unexplored coastline and mountains.......the list goes on and on. Only a 1-hour flight from Miami and a 3-hour flight from New York, it is modern day diamond in the rough yours to uncover.

Blue Moon is located on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic in the foothills of the Septentrional mountains only 40 minutes from the Puerto Plata International Airport. The international sport-town of Cabarete is only a 15-minute drive from the property. The capital city of Santo Domingo and the business city of Santiago are respectively only 3-hour and 1-hour drives away.

The Blue Moon is a peaceful hilltop retreat close to "civilization", but away from the tourist crowds. Our 38 acres of manicured and wild gardens surrounded by farmland in the Dominican countryside are perfect for romantic and family getaways, and our quiet, reflective environment is particularly suited for retreats, sabaticals, parties, workshops, and special events.

The real Dominican Republic is all around us. It is the charming and gratious nature of our true hosts, the Dominicans, that help make Blue Moon such a special place. The entire staff lives in the small community of Los Brazos within walking distance. When you stay at Blue Moon you are as much a neighbor as your are a guest. A short walk down the hill brings you right into the heart of a typical community in the Dominican countryside.

...and of course the lushness and vibrance of the Dominican countryside are absolutely enchanting...as are sunsets. We invite you to share this paradise with us. Bienvenidos!
